Policy Intern - Harris for President

The Harris for President Campaign (the “Campaign”) is seeking individuals who are committed to electing Kamala Harris as president to serve as interns for the Policy Team.


The Policy Department is responsible for developing materials — including fact sheets, background memos, speeches, talking points, and website pages—that promote the vision of the president and vice president and contrast that vision with their opponents’ vision. The Policy Department will also mobilize validators to amplify the vision of the president and vice president and make the policy choice clear to voters. During this internship, you will gain first-hand knowledge of the president’s policies and agenda and assist senior and junior staff. We are seeking interns with a variety of backgrounds and experiences and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.


Interns are expected to work 4-6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a total of at least 20 hours, but no more than 30 hours per week. The recommended hours are 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM EST, but schedules can be flexible. The internship is paid at $17 per hour. The duration of the internship will be 12 weeks, with options for different timeframes and cohorts, as outlined above.


Due to campaign finance restrictions, interns are not permitted to accept any other payment or thing of value for the internship without explicit approval by the Campaign.


This position is not CWG bargaining unit eligible.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior and junior staff with developing policy content.

  • Conduct research as needed relating to the Biden-Harris Administration’s policy achievements, Kamala Harris's policy vision, and other relevant topics.

  • Monitor news media and social media to address developments on policy issues pertinent to the election.

  • Other administrative tasks as needed.
