Black is Gold University
The Black Is Gold University Program was created to establish a supportive community and safe space for Black college women to enhance their personal and professional growth. It aims to foster engagement in communities, expand networks, and build connections with other Black women through interactive campus events. Moreover, the program focuses on offering mental health and wellness initiatives and resources to help Black college women navigate their mental well-being during their collegiate journey and any associated challenges.
Throughout the program, participants can engage in personal and professional development workshops, expand their networks, attend campus events tailored for Black women, form community bonds through exclusive member events, participate in community service activities, and receive dedicated career mentoring.
What makes this program special is that it is not only created for Black collegiate women but is also led by Black collegiate women students known as Golden Girl Ambassadors, who oversee the implementation of the Black Is Gold University program on their campuses. Currently, the program is active at Hampton University, Emory University, and Northern Illinois University.
