Black is Gold University's
Annual Diaper Drive

Making a meaningful impact on mothers across the Hampton Roads community while engaging collegiate students in service.

The Annual Community Baby Shower, hosted by our Black is Gold University Program at Hampton University, is one of the most highly anticipated community service events of the year on campus. This event is dedicated to collecting diapers and baby wipes for young moms in need throughout the Hampton Roads area and community.

At its core, the Community Baby Shower highlights the importance of supporting young mothers and their children. While our primary goal is to gather essential items such as diapers and baby wipes, this event goes beyond donations. It provides an opportunity for collegiate students to become actively involved in community service, emphasizing the value of giving back to one’s local community. Through their participation, students also gain a deeper understanding of social impact and the importance of philanthropy, inspiring them to become future servant leaders.

During the event, attendees will actively participate in service activities designed to directly support young moms, engage with local community resources, and enjoy a variety of interactive games and food, all while making a positive impact. Campus organizations and individual students are invited to participate, with entry requiring a donation of either diapers or baby wipes.

Every year, we look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back and fostering community involvement among students and residents of Hampton Roads!
