Annual Community Baby Shower

Impacting mothers across the Hampton Roads Community and involving collegiate students in community service.

The Annual Community Baby Shower, hosted in the fall semester by our Black is Gold University Program at Hampton University, stands as one of the most highly anticipated community service events. Dedicated to supporting single moms and their little ones, especially benefiting the Gloww Center in Yorktown, VA, it embodies our unwavering commitment to their well-being.

At its core, the Community Baby Shower acknowledges the vital role of a strong support network in the lives of single mothers and their children. While our primary goal is to collect diapers and baby wipes for the moms at the Gloww Center, this event transcends mere donations. We aim to involve collegiate students in community service, underscoring the significance of giving back to one's local community. Moreover, it aspires to inspire the next generation of servant leaders by instilling in them the value of social impact and community engagement. Campus organizations and individual students are invited to participate, with entry requiring a donation of either diapers or baby wipes.

During the event, attendees have the opportunity to learn more about the Gloww Center, engage in additional service activities to support its mission, and enjoy fun games and food.
