Annually, through our Black is Gold University program, we host our "Make a Statement" event in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Denim Day.

 

This event aims to engage Black collegiate women in various activities focused on raising awareness about sexual assault and creating safe spaces for collegiate women to express themselves.

 

During the event, participants have the opportunity to engage in activities promoting awareness and understanding, including discussions on how these issues directly impact Black women on college campuses.

 

Additionally, they participate in reconstructing and decorating a denim item of their choice (such as jeans, a shirt, a bag, etc.) in preparation for "Denim Day."
